Living in Beijing, a city known for its flamboyance and extravagence, has almost made me forget how much I love minimalism. In today’s global village, designers and artists are no longer limited by their immediate environment and culture for creative inspirations. By taking insights and ideas from across the globe, designers open themselves up to a wider audience through the blending of Eastern and Western styles.
Japanese artist Shohei Otomo does this in his eye-popping illustrations. Not only are the details and shading amazing but the intertwining of traditional Japanese comic book drawings with modern cultural twists are truly unique.
Check out his portfolio - below is merely a tip of the iceberg.

Before your favorite celebrities are shot on film, there is a whole team of artists who create the concept art and storyboards for these blockbuster flicks. Adam Brockbank is one of these minds and his work is gorgeous. He’s done character and setting visualizations for movies like Spiderman 2, Tomb Raider, Troy, Xmen, The Harry Potter series, and the list goes on.

Check out his website for more awesomeness.
The artist-presently-known-as-Mac is renowned for his graffiti murals across the globe. The piece below demonstrates his unique flair for creating actual photo negative images that only appears normal after you snap a pic and invert the colour treatment.

Although some of his murals have become local landmarks, Mac’s range of work doesn’t stop there. He is also recognized for his various elaborate brush stroke styles along with his work on stained glass.
