Back in college, I remember ordering pizza and tearing the top of the box apart to use as makeshift plates. William Walsh and E.C.O. has taken this idea one step further to create the environmentally friendly Green Box, a pizza box made out of 100% recycled material that solves a variety of pizza-related problems.
My water-bottle-fascination alarm was triggered today by the following two health/environmentally friendly filter water bottles. The usual statistical suspects are present: BPA free? Check. Durable and reusable? Check. Ergonomic design? Check. However, with the growing concerns regarding our planet/species’ health, it’s no surprise that the selling point of these water bottles is a built in filtration system. More photos after the jump.
Magewappa, which literally translates to “bent-woodware”, is a 400-year old traditional Japanese wood craft originating from Odate City in Japan’s northern Akita prefecture. These unique pieces are created by thinly shaving a perfectly straight-grain cedar wood, only found on the eastern side of the Shirakami Mountains. This specific type of 100-year old cedar wood is required due to its ability to endure the demanding production process.
Living in Beijing, a city known for its flamboyance and extravagence, has almost made me forget how much I love minimalism. Paying homage to the Rube Goldberg Machine and inspired by the Honda Accord commercial “Cogs”, American pop-rock band OK Go partnered with Synn Labs and director James Frost to create this insanely complex video for their hit single “This Too Shall Pass”. OK Go’s ingenuity and creativity never cease to amaze me. This is structured chaos at it’s finest!
